Akela kibble is extruded with a Thermal Twin extruder using the lowest temperatures possible; producing more digestible foods without the nutrient degradation that can be seen at high temperature processing. The extrusion and drying processes do not use very high temperatures – just over 90 degrees centigrade (the minimum for safety reasons) and under 180 degrees centigrade - this is lower than you would cook a pizza at! This means that proteins stay highly digestible and natural vitamins and minerals survive the process better. Some ingredients are added after extrusion too - for example all vitamin levels stated in the nutritional additive section are added after cooking to guarantee minimum levels.

I have tried a few different brand including Orijen and Milles Wolf Heart and my dog wasn't quite taking to them.Price Quality
But now she scoffs the lot when we put down her bowl.
Can't believe I found a dry food that she eats so quickly, was getting worried she wasn't eating enough before!
The bite size pieces also helped I think as Millie's was on the big side.

My one-year-old crossbreed loves Akela, she can't get enough of it! I used to have to persuade her to eat kibble but no longer. After 6 months on it she's incredibly healthy and lively and people always comment how beautiful her coat is. My 4 year old is and always has been such a fussy eater. I had been feeding her on Origien as this is the only food she liked. This was getting very expensive so I started to do some research and that's when I found Akela which contents almost exactly the same ingredients but for nearly half the price! The fact the food is stocked and even some of the meat comes from Suffolk is brilliant, it's nice to be able to use a local and upcoming food for my much loved family pet. We have two dogs, one aged 2 years and the other 5 months. They both love Akela 80:20 and, although they have been eating it for only a few weeks, they appear to be thriving on it. I am an owner to a very large GSD and any owner who knows this breed knows how temperamental their stomachs are.Price Quality
I have given him 'the best foods' possible over the years, going through at least 4-5 different ones over his lifetime. None have completely stopped his sloppy poo, improved yes but never has he had firm faeces - until now. Even his flaky skin has completely gone; just a shame it didn't stop his allergies but that is environmental so nothing to do with his food intake.
I thought he would need as much each meal as his old food but this isn't the case, in fact its half of what he is used to have so this food is sooooo good in so many ways and best of all - HE LOVES IT.

I got my beloved puppy three months ago, she always had an upset tummy I tried a few different brands of food but nothing worked so I done some research and came across Akela, and I haven't looked back my puppy is thriving on this food and her poo is now normal. I've become almost evangelical about this dog food my dogs are thriving on it and I have converted my daughter who has a staffordshire bull terrier who has suffered for years with a dicky tummy!
